I live in Queens which is one of the diverse communities in New York City. When I look outside of my window, I see all different age peoples. Most people over here speak more than one language such as Spanish, Hindi, Bengali and Urdu etc. Every Saturday afternoon I noticed a group of 20-25 years boys do car racing in the front street of my house which creates a loud noise. I also noticed my next-door neighbor (Adult) who throw BBQ party every couple day on their driveway with foods and music. The main concern now for most people would be going back to normal life as more people struggling to support their family’s with food and supplies because of CVD-19. But the last few days country shifting to wrong directions as racism is growing all over.

When I look outside my window, I see many things , From Schools to Groceries to Banks and beauty supplies. I live in Harlem, a place where everything is dense with flea markets to almost anything you want or need but since the pandemic hit, everything went silent. From less interaction to no interaction. I miss everything. I miss the freedom of stepping out whenever or however. Everyone has to wear a mask and gloves . people can’t bargain in a park and start playing ball without forcing the social distance and we were getting used to it until social distances became a privilege. The freedom of practicing social distance was taken away once one of our kind (George Floyd) was murdered. Now we are fighting two opposite diseases. Coming together to fight as one and practicing social distance. we either get killed by the police or the virus.
