Hi my name is Ismil Hossain. I live in hollis, queens. This area is very close to Queen Village.
Usually this area is very quiet, everyone goes to work in the morning and comes home at night. Because of this pandemic period, I got to see my neighbors because they are mostly home. Some people come out of their house and sit in front of it and chat with other family members. They put on loud music too. This is possible here, because everyone owns private houses. On the other hand some house owners like to plant veggies and flowers in the empty space they have either in front of the house or in the backyard. For instance, my sister owns a house here, and she is planting a variety of vegetables such as cucumber, green chilli, tomatoes, potatoes, spinach, egg plant, etc. overall, this area feels like a weekend everyday, because everyone is home.
Recently our focus convert from COVID19 to Black Lives Matter. I think the conflict between the black community and NYPD can be balanced. For one person's mistake, we shouldn't blame the whole department. The protest was reasonable becauseGoerge Floyd didn't deserve to be killed. When people say FTP they are saying to all police officers who work for safety. When we face problems we call 911 and seek help. If you don't treat them well we shouldn't expect them to help from their heart. If we make sure that they get defended then we shouldn't call 911 at all. At the end of the day we have to think that they are putting their lives on risk for our safety, but that doesn’t give them the right to discriminate against people based on their race or skin color.
